Matthew Hanlon moved to New York City from upstate New York (The Adirondacks) in 1987 to attend college, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A).
During his last year of college he was chosen to intern at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
While at the Met, Hanlon worked on the restoration of the period room Gubbio Studiolo. During his last year of college and first year out of college he worked at Antiquarian Restorers for Mr. Fritz Mang.
Hanlon started his own business in 1991. Clients include private collectors, the major auction houses In New York City (and the referrals from them), interior decorators, architectural firms, art dealers, insurance companies and more.
